24/7 industrial breakdown callout across the North West.
Line down at 03:00? Speak to an engineer in under 60 seconds. Rapid response for mechanical, electrical and controls emergencies.
What we do
The service in plain English.
When a production line, refrigeration plant, DB or PLC drops out overnight, every minute costs money. Lutrom's 24/7 industrial breakdown service is designed for exactly that call — a live engineer answering the phone, a real diagnosis over the line, and a technician on your doorstep in under two hours across most of the North West. We cover mechanical failures (drives, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors), electrical faults (tripped DBs, blown supplies, faulty motor starters, VFDs), controls issues (PLC lockups, HMI faults, comms breakdowns) and safety-critical failures (fire alarm faults out of hours, emergency lighting outages, EICR observation follow-ups). Because we do the planned work too, we usually already know your site, your assets and — most importantly — your commercial priorities. That means we don't guess, we don't ring around for parts, and we don't leave you with a "temp fix" that becomes permanent.
What's included
Every job covers the following.
- 24/7/365 live-answer number — no answering service, no queue, no bot
- Initial triage on the phone before we roll — often a fix over the line saves the call-out
- Typical on-site arrival in ≤ 2 hours across Cheshire, Manchester, Merseyside and Lancashire
- First hour on-site included in the call-out fee — no meter-drop pricing tricks
- Van stock covers 90% of common industrial failure modes: contactors, MCBs, RCBOs, fuses, relays, terminals, PLC input cards, common VFDs
- Multi-discipline engineers — one call covers mechanical, electrical and controls
- Written post-callout report: what failed, what we did, what to plan for next
- Follow-up quote for anything that needs planned rectification during working hours

01
Answered live
Call our 24/7 line and an on-call engineer picks up. Describe what's happening — we'll triage over the phone.
02
Dispatch or fix-by-phone
For many faults (comms, HMI lockup, over-temp trip) we can walk you through the fix. If we need to roll, we tell you an honest ETA.
03
On-site diagnosis & rectify
Multi-skilled engineer on-site with van stock covering common failure modes. Fix if possible; safe temporary if a part needs sourcing at 05:00.
04
Report & follow-up
Written report next business day covering what happened, what we did, and any planned work to prevent it recurring — quoted separately.
How we price this work
No surprise invoices.
Call-out fee covers travel and the first hour on-site. Additional time is billed at our standard hourly rate; parts at cost + agreed handling. Weekend and out-of-hours rates apply outside 08:00–17:00 Mon–Fri. Contracted clients get a discounted call-out fee, priority dispatch, and a monthly bank of PPM/reactive hours that draws down from either. All rates and conditions are agreed in writing before any first call — never a surprise on the invoice.

Service FAQ
What clients ask before they call.
How fast will you actually be on-site?
Based at Unit 28, Winnington Business Park, Northwich, we support industrial and commercial sites across Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Lancashire. Typical arrival for callouts is under 2 hours day or night; when we take your call we tell you an honest ETA before you commit — no false promises.
Is the phone actually answered at 3 a.m.?
Yes. Our 24/7 line rings the on-call engineer directly. No answering service, no voicemail. If for any reason we can't take a call live (already on another emergency), you get a callback in minutes.
Do I need a contract to call you out?
No — we take emergency calls from new clients regularly, and we'll set up your account on the same call. That said, clients on a call-out contract get a lower call-out fee, priority dispatch and — because we've already surveyed your site — much faster on-site diagnosis.
What if the fix needs a part you don't have?
Our vans carry the parts that cover about 90% of common industrial failures — contactors, MCBs, RCBOs, fuses, relays, control transformers, common VFD replacements, PLC input/output cards on the major platforms. For anything more specialist we'll either fit a compliant temporary, source the part first thing in the morning, or advise you honestly if the safe answer is to leave the machine offline until the correct part arrives.
Can you handle mechanical breakdowns too, or just electrical?
Both. Our on-call engineers are multi-skilled across mechanical (drives, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics), electrical (DBs, VFDs, motor starters, control gear) and controls (PLCs, HMIs, comms). One call covers the whole failure — you don't have to work out whether it's a bearing or a signal before you ring.
What do you provide after the callout?
A written report by the next business day — root cause, what we did, parts fitted, any residual risk, and a quoted plan for any follow-up planned work that would stop this happening again. It's yours to share with insurers, auditors or head office.
